How I Got Here

When I was younger, aside from playing Neopets religiously, I played dress-up games and browsed personal sozai sites. My favorite was easily Hushstar.net. I really wanted to learn how to make my own kawaii sozai and developed in interest in pixel art in general.

When I was in high school, I was finally able to buy a domain and hosting, I wanted to achieve one of my childhood dreams of owning a sozai site! So, I taught myself HTML and CSS and made a small site which I called Sleepy Satellite. I eventually took it down as college took over all of my priorities, and the sozai community had pretty much disappeared by then, anyway. But I was happy to have achieved that goal. I even ended up studying UI/UX a bit while in school.

I don't know exactly what prompted me to want to have my own website again. Post-college, like many, I've been feeling nostalgic for the good ol' (internet) days, but also kind of regretful about what I've missed out on. So now, when I feel myself thinking "I want to try it!" I remember how past-me was able to constantly throw herself into learning new things despite having significantly smaller time and monetary budgets. I hope this site will help facilitate that mindset and give me a chance to explore and practice skills I've gathered along the way.

And also I kind of really hate most social media.
