I'm giving up on titling these things. Before, it was convenient for telling them apart because I was moving divs around pages. I still managed to delete one or two entries on accident, but now I don't care. If it disappears, it disappears!

My birthday was last Wednesday, and instead of taking the day off I just worked. It's kind of nice having coworkers ask you why you wouldn't take the day off, but on the other hand, when they just keep asking, it seems like they really don't appreciate my presence? Like, just mute me on Slack, it's not that big of a deal.

I'm half joking, I had a good week. I've been watching the new season of Girls' High School Mystery Class. The episodes are longer, and so far it feels more grounded in reality than the last season, so I like it. I also started another miniature house, one with less paper pieces! And I'm making clothes for my honeybears. I wondered how some customizers painted the eyes, and it turns out their heads pretty easy to disassemble with some force. The eye mechanism is standard magnet-gravity magic, so I imagine it would be really easy to make a mold of the "eyes" and do some fun things with resin. Painting is less viable for the darker honeybears, because their "eyelids" are too dark to make an opaque coat that doesn't get stuck in the eyeholes, but I mixed pearl powder with varnish for a slightly iridescent effect on one. For now he just has a hat made from an icing tip, but perhaps I'll give him a cape and a wand or something. I gave another one boots. It was a bit of a failed experiment.

I've been working on my Doll page lately. I keep going back and forth about what I want to do with it. But I'm the same way with my dolls. It's hard for me to just pick one thing I want to do! So I spent a long time trying to do the faceup for my new boy. Actually for starters the weather has been all over the place, so that stalled my progress quite a bit. Both of my Kinoko Juices have more delicate features even if they're not necessarily smaller, but this head was so hard to paint because there's so much more topography! I attempted doing dark eyebrows as I always do, because I like swapping wigs a lot. But I had a mushroom cut white wig (not a fan) and white eyelashes for my old tinies. So, at the end of the day I went with white! Maybe I will just go full dark elf? Or goblin king?

Well since I bought myself Santa brought me some Honeybears for Christmas as well, I thought it would be funny if he was a honeybear king. He won't be kidnapping any children though. Oh... I think I finally understand why people have long, elaborate backstories for their dolls now.

In other news, and my friends are planning on going to a Mitski concert together next month (pandemic permitting). Most of us haven't been to one in a couple of years. I haven't been to one in much longer, because I don't like crowds. I'll probably cry! But I'm looking forward to it. One of my absolute biggest regrets that keeps me up at 2AM is not going to see Perfume at SXSW in 2015 (as if I had the means to go anyway), so I am going to become the concert junkie I know I was always never not meant to be!

woowoo 2022

Last year went by so quick! I think I say that every year, though. It's because time just keeps moving faster. Even though it was another year where not much happened, I guess I'm grateful to have had many more nothing-happened days than absolutely horrible days, as was the case in 2020. But I did have some fun experiences, too! I started this website, for one! And that's been a lot of fun, for lots of reasons. Who knew that the internet could be pretty alright again, once you remember to start using it the way you want to?! Thanks to the entire Neocities for existing, and also newly formed Pixel Garden MB! Hoping for more good things for both this year!

And the things I didn't accomplish last year, of course I will just have to try again this year!
